Privacy notice

This page explains what personal information we hold, why we hold it, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English because that is how we prefer to do things.

Who we are

Owners of businesses we write to

We look for one UK manufacturing business to buy and run. To find it, we hold basic information about the owners and directors of businesses that might be a fit: names, roles, business contact details, and publicly available information about the business itself. That information comes from Companies House, company websites, professional networking sites and the trade press. We do not buy lists and we do not hold anything about your private life.

We rely on our legitimate interest in identifying and approaching the owners of businesses we might buy. We keep the information for as long as a business could be a fit, and no longer than three years without contact. If you would rather we did not hold your details, tell us and we will delete them and not write again.

People who contact us

If you ring or email, we keep your message and our reply so that we can deal with what you asked. If a conversation goes further, we will sign a confidentiality agreement with you before you share anything about your business, and we will handle what you share under that agreement.

This website

The site does not use cookies and does not track visitors. It is hosted by Netlify, whose servers record standard technical information such as the address of the device requesting a page. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which involves your browser sending its address to Google in the ordinary way when the page loads.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to our holding it at all. Email james@thornindustrialpartnership.co.uk and we will respond within a month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
